At the moment, Saturn is conjunct fixed star Dschubba, located in the head of the constellation Scorpius, the Scorpion. The conjunction between Saturn and this fixed star will re-occur in October 2015. Thereafter we will have to wait until November 2044 for a repeat performance.
According to Ptolemy, Dschubba is of the nature of Mars and Saturn. It can cause sudden assaults, malevolence, immorality and shamelessness. This star delta (δ) Dschubba, along with beta (β) Acrab, and pi (π) Scorpius, formed the Arabic 17th manzil al- Iklil, the Crown of the Forehead of the Scorpion.

Saturn, the Greater Malefic, is a cold, dry diurnal planet. He mainly represents sobriety, setbacks and restrictions. In conjunction with the fixed star Dschubba, it is believed to indicate violence, destructive inclinations, cruelty and immorality.
Apart from these rather unpleasant sounding possibilities, there also seems to be a rather interesting tendency towards foundation or recognition of cities, political entities or states. We know of a few events in the past that occurred when Saturn was close to fixed star Dschubba:
- Saturn was at in head of the Scorpion at the Aries ingress of 814 BC, when the founding of Carthage took place.
- During the 1958 establishment of the United Arab Republic, Saturn and Mars were in the head of the Scorpion.
- The 1956 treaty, granting Morocco independence was signed when Saturn and North Lunar Node were in the head of the Scorpion.
