Winter Solstice Wishes

With the Sun’s Capricorn ingress nearly upon us, I would like to take the opportunity to wish my friends and all the gentle readers of this web log a peaceful Winter Solstice, a Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2022.

Here are a few highlights we can look forward to during 2022. The Lunar Nodes will shift into Taurus (NNode) and Scorpio (SNode) on 18 January, staying therein for the next 18 months. At the beginning of April there will be a conjunction between Mars and Saturn in Aquarius. Mercury will turn retrograde four times throughout the year, and there will also be two Venus cazimi events and two Mars/Venus conjunctions.

Below are the charts for the Sun’s ingress into Capricorn for The United Kingdom and the USA. There is a very prominent Jupiter visible in either of the charts, which is beneficial in different ways, but the Moon, representing the people of the UK and USA, has quite a different placement. In the UK chart, she is on the cusp of the 2nd house, suggesting that the nation’s assets and its financial status should get a boost. In the chart of the USA, on the other hand, the Moon is on the cusp of the 6th house, which can indicate periods of national vulnerability to epidemics.

  1. For the USA winter solstice chart, I took notice how the Moon opposes Venus. Venus sits on the cusp of the 12th and rules the 3rd and 8th. It seems like this could show a possibility of another lockdown (3rd house activities such as transport and daily rounds restricted) due to an increase of public mortality (8th house) but the people (Moon) oppose any further lockdowns regardless of any potential increased death rates or hospitalized rates.
